International Women’s Day: Saying goodbye to an inspiring Grandma…

I wasn’t entirely sure whether I was going to write about the passing of my beautiful Grandmother, Vera May, but then again, it is International Women’s Day and what better way to celebrate such a lady than on an occasion like that? Plus, look a the the woman (above)! Hollywood glamour or what?! I want my daughter to look to women such as her and see that you can be strong. You can be feisty. You can take on whatever life throws at you. I wrote my first ever published article on my Grandmother – something I cherish with all my heart. It was a dream come true. The world got a glimpse in to what it was like for women in the 1940’s, when all your plans vanished before your eyes as war stole everything you were once about. She was in fashion (yep, must be where I get it from!) but it wasn’t meant to be. In 1944 she joined the Women’s Land Army, met my Grandad and as they say, the rest …
